The Confident Caregiver Method is developed from observing different stages we experience in caregiving. This method helps us assess where you are at any point in time and what issues are likely to be at hand. We work together to identify what will best help you at present and anticipate future needs.

Preparing to care.

Step one is all about organization. I help you get clear on the basics of what you need. We decrease the overwhelm into actionable steps. You and your care recipient can feel empowered as you move forward.

Create your team.

You don’t know who to ask, where to find them, or how to ask for help. We create a map of what’s available and where there are gaps. We identify resources, where to find them, and how to change plans when needed.

Cultivating Confidence and Self-fullnes.

Every step is designed to increase your capability and confidence as a caregiver. Self-fullness includes putting yourself in the equation. You learn to identify what you need in different moments. When your needs are met, you have more to offer others.

Conversations in Caregiving.

Conversations in caregiving can sometimes be awkward or difficult. Sharing information, asking questions, and using technology are parts of this dynamic. Learning to be assertive helps you get what you need for your care recipient and yourself.

After Care.

Caregiving will have an endpoint. This may come with recovery or death. Anticipating how to transition your role from caregiver is important. As we created self-fullness to support caregiving, we now focus on releasing our experience.

You are not alone.

Prior to the pandemic, we identified that over 53 million Americans are caregivers. We know that there are now more. Caregiving can feel isolating but there are thriving online communities, and in-person meetings will resume soon. Listening to others, hearing common stories, finding humor, joy, and solutions are possible.
